Definitions of vetting criteria for integrated assessment modelling scenarios

This package defines criteria that can be used to vet scenarios created by integrated assessment models (IAMs). The criteria definitions can be loaded as raw data, as an R package, or as a Python package.

Extensive documentation of the package contents and its usage is provided via GitHub pages.

Releases

The validation criteria are continuously updated and made available as separate releases. These releases are currently available:

  • Release 2026-06-01(latest)
  • Release 2026-02-01

Components

Each releases contains the following components:

  • Types — Distinguishes criteria based on the purpose
  • Thresholds — Defines threshold levels for all criteria across different years
  • Metadata — Explains the justification for defining criteria and the specific threshold level chosen
  • Reference data — Used for setting threshold levels relative to some external data source
  • Sources — Bibliographic information on sources and references used
